The Alexander & Buono Competitions
The Alexander & Buono Competitions
The Alexander & Buono Competitions (ABC) are piano, vocal, and string competitions designed to help launch and sustain the careers of classical artists. Executive Directors Barry Alexander and Cosmo Buono not only help competition winners by presenting them in Carnegie Hall, but also throughout the world, most recently with gala concerts in Paris, Venice, and New York.

Each annual presentation of ABC's winners at Carnegie includes an array of gifted musicians, which is why the Sorel Organization is pleased to announce we will be partnering directly with them to provide some of the artists for our future engagements. We feel this is the best way to allow winners of these prestigious competitions to be heard, and sustain our own commitment to keeping musical excellence alive.

Our first event as partners will take place on Monday March, 22, 2010 when pianists Anna Shelest and Kana Mimaki, both First Prize Winners of the 2009 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition, will appear with Maestro Dennis Keene and the Voices of Ascension in a performance of Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at Alice Tully Hall. Mezzo soprano Jennifer Larmore of the Metropolitan Opera will be the guest soloist. We look forward working with ABC, and helping the next generation of world class artists.
