CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

New Triad for Collaborative Arts

Our foundation is offering a special grant to New Triad for Collaborative Arts to support two exciting projects in June 2010 as well as becoming one of the group's charter members. New Triad is a 501C3 educational and arts services organization, founded in 2002 to provide classical musicians with innovative performance skills that lead to more accessible concerts. New Triad's interdisciplinary training helps artists dramatically increase both the expressiveness and visual impact of their performances.

From June 6-14 New Triad will be in residence at Vancouver International Song Institute. Two New Triad faculty members will be offering classes and coachings at VISI. (Adam Marks teaching "Speaking with your Audience" and Dr. Arlene Shrut, New Triad Founder and Artistic Director, teaching " Musical Dynamics of Partnership.") Also, one Sorel Scholarship covering full tuition plus stipend towards expenses will be awarded.

From June 16-19, New Triad will be in residence at SongFest at Pepperdine University in Malibu. New Triad will facilitate a presentation skills workshop to help singer-pianist teams prepare the second half of a concert on June 19, featuring songs by composer Lori Laitman. Two New Triad faculty members (Debra Wiley teaching " Connecting to your Music" and Arlene teaching " Musical Dynamics of Partnership") as well as Lori will offer master classes and private and team-teaching sessions towards the performance. Sorel is additionally offering funds for a special commissioned work by Lori for this Songfest concert and two full tuition scholarships plus stipend towards expenses for the two singers who will perform the commissioned Laitman work at the premiere.

In addition to commissioning Lori Laitman, an important woman composer of our generation, in concert with the Sorel Organization's mission in support of women in music breaking boundaries in the field, New Triad, Vancouver International Song Institute and Songfest are founded and directed by three dynamic women: Arlene Shrut( NT), Rena Sharon( VISI) and Rosemary Hyler(SF).
